Q & A
1. About Us
Q: Are Autism Community Network and Autism Somerset the same organisation?
A: Yes. Autism Community Network CIC is the registered company; Autism Somerset is the name we use for projects rooted in the county. Same team, same standards—just two “jackets” for different audiences.

Q: When were you founded and why?
A: We started in 2011 to make evidence-based autism support easier to find and kinder to access—locally and across the UK.
2. Services & Eligibility
Q: Do I need an official autism diagnosis to use your services?
A: No. We welcome self-identified autistic and otherwise neurodivergent people, plus families, carers and professionals.

Q: What is BPS-accredited clinical supervision and who is it for?
A: It’s structured professional supervision that meets British Psychological Society quality standards. Psychologists, counsellors, OTs, teachers and other practitioners use it for CPD, case reflection and career progression.

Q: Can employers book in-house training?
A: Absolutely. We offer half-day to two-day packages, online or on-site, tailored to your sector and staff size.
3. Booking & Costs
Q: How do I book a workshop or supervision slot?
A: Use the “Book Now” button on each event page. You’ll receive an instant confirmation email and a follow-up calendar invitation.

Q: Do you offer concessions or funded places?
A: Yes. Thanks to community grants we can reduce or waive fees for low-income families and small charities—just tick the “request concession” box at checkout.

Q: Can you signpost me to diagnosis pathways or local services?
A: We keep an up-to-date referral list for NHS and private assessments, plus local support charities. Email us or book a 30-minute signposting call.
4. Events & Locations
Q: Where are your face-to-face sessions held?
A: Somerset events are usually in Taunton, Bridgwater or Yeovil libraries/community hubs. National pop-ups rotate—check the event listing for the exact postcode.

Q: Is the venue wheelchair accessible?
A: We only book venues with step-free access and accessible toilets. If you need anything else (quiet room, BSL interpreter, etc.) let us know on the booking form.
5. Digital Access
Q: What platform do you use for online training?
A: Teams for live sessions and Thinkific for self-paced e-learning. Both work on desktop, tablet and most smartphones.

Q: Will the session be recorded?
A: Live trainings are recorded and shared privately with attendees for two weeks. Supervision sessions are not recorded to protect confidentiality.
