About Us

Autism Community Network C.I.C. is a  Community Interest Company founded in 2011, originally under the name Autism Somerset. However, we wanted to share our services beyond Somerset, hence the name change.

Our mission is to help autistic and neurodiverse children, adults, families, and organisations that serve them, from first diagnosis to inclusive workplaces, to be more accepting and informed.

Since launch, we have supported over 2,600 individuals and provided training for staff in NHS trusts, police departments, schools, and businesses throughout the UK and Somerset.

Our Story

Our founder, Campbell Main, set up the Autism Community Network C.I.C. (Autism Somerset) on 30th December 2011. The original website began life in response to the NICE Guidelines and the Autism Act. It was Campbell's vision that the website would provide information and signpost to communities, families, and individuals to improve the quality of life for autistic individuals. Although Campbell resigned from his position, he continues to offer advice and holds local authorities accountable.

In January 2016, Allison Ward joined our team after training with Campbell and brings with her extensive experience in training and lived experience. In December 2018, Stephen Bradshaw came on board, following a successful career in establishing and managing specialist schools and residential care for both children and adults. In 2020, Dianne Zaccheo became our third and final director, contributing valuable insights into family therapy and family dynamics within the context of neurodiversity.
